Developments in the field of nuclear energy

  • A water chemistry regime that excludes the crystallization of boric acid salts in temporary storage tanks of liquid radioactive waste of nuclear power plants with VVER-1000 reactors has been developed and implemented.
  • The metrological certification of methods of performing measurements of mass concentrations of Fe, Ni, Cu, Co, Cl, H ions in the circuit waters of nuclear power plants were carried out according to ISO 5725-1-2002 “Accuracy of methods and measurement results”.
  • The water-saving regimes of deactivation using low-reactive deactivating agents have been developed that reduce the amount of radioactive waste generation under NPP conditions.

Completed work

  • The water-saving technologies of deactivation of equipment, premises, overalls using low-reactive deactivation agents have been developed and implemented at all NPPs of Ukraine.
  • The package of production and technological documentation for the production of low reactive agents of deactivation of the brand “SHT” was developed and approved in the established order. The production at own working areas has been established.
  • The technology of fragmentation of radioactive metals by electrochemical method is developed.
  • The technology and the installation of electrochemical deactivation of metals of medium and low activity, located in the cells of the solid radioactive waste storage and current production facilities was developed, tests were carried out in the conditions of the NPP.
  • The technology has been developed for measuring the amount of radioactive deposits in the storage tanks for liquid radioactive waste of nuclear power plants by an acoustic method and the technology of washing of salt deposits in the storage tanks for liquid radioactive waste with the help of ultrasound.
  • The technology of separation of flows and installation of deep purification of wastewater of special laundry of nuclear power plants with a reactor of the VVER type was developed.
  • The technology and installation for the extraction of surfactants from low-level liquid radioactive wastes have been developed, and an installation for the utilization of radioactive surfactants has been also created.
  • The technology and the complex of production equipment have been developed, tests have been carried out for cleaning water from the drinking and household water supply intake of the city of Energodar from manganese compounds and the problem of their further utilization has been solved.
  • The method for purifying air has been developed in the expulsion of containers from radioactive iodine impurities.
  • The technical proposals for purification of water from copper ions of the NPP storage pools have been issued.
  • The technology of cleaning ammonia-containing streams of special water treatment plants of nuclear power plants by the method of electrochemical oxidation has been developed.
  • The technical proposals of the technology of non-reagent regeneration of ion-exchange materials have been developed.
  • The installation for selecting radioactive sludges and/or spent filter materials has been developed.
  • The technology and installation of deactivation of radioactive sludges and/or spent filtering materials have been developed.
  • The device of deactivation of radioactive faeces in the form of sludges and/or spent filtering materials has been developed.
  • The technology and the installation of oxidation of organic compounds and/or polyvalent radioactive metals has been developed.
  • An apparatus of the oxidation of organic compounds and/or polyvalent radioactive metals has been developed.
  • The technology and installation for the purification of liquid radioactive wastes and/or technological solutions for special water treatment from radioactive components has been developed.
  • The technology of curing of radioactive wastes has been developed.
  • The container for curing of radioactive wastes has been developed.

The use of our technologies makes it possible to minimize the generation of radioactive wastes of the current production of nuclear power plants and to reduce the volume of accumulated radioactive wastes directed for long-term storage. The works of our company in this field were approved by the Coordinating Council on Reducing Radioactive Wastes of “Rosenergoatom” Concern and National Nuclear Power Generating Company “Energoatom” in Energodar.
